What to Bring to the DMV to Get Your License

The items required below are for students under 18 years of age.

  • Driving Skills Road Test

You must have a valid Colorado permit to take the test. If you are under 18, you need to have held a valid permit for a full calendar year to take the test. Anyone under 18, if you have had any interruption/suspension of permit, it is your responsibility to know when the one year mark is reached.

You must show up with valid CO permit, car registration and insurance to take the test. If you show up without proper documentation, cancel less than 24 hours notice, are a no show, or show up more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, you will forfeit the road test fee and be charged $60 to rebook for a test.  All cancelations must be done by customer on the portal. No texts or phone calls will be accepted as cancellation.

Saturday and weekend driving tests are charged at a higher rate than weekedays. There is an additional $20 that will be billed upon arrival.

If you have a restricted permit due to an alcohol offense, all tests must be conducted in a vehicle that has an interlock. Showing up without the proper vehicle will result in a forfeture of the payment. Anyone under age 18 must have held their permit for a full calendar year. Any suspension of this permit for ages under 18 do NOT count towards that year mark, so know your situation. It is not our responsibility to know if you have a suspended permit. If you have been pulled over, it is your responsibility to know what charges were given to you.

The driving test can only be taken once a day. If you failed the test at another testing location, you will not be able to take the test until the next day, so please do not book if you know you are not testable.
